I was born in Vietnam in 1954 and have a wife and two children. In 1991 I came to Canada and started working in August 1992 for Koya Japan. I worked for them for 8 years and by the year 2000 I was a partner.
In 2012 we couldn't renew the lease because of the rent increase. I always loved to work in the kitchen and dreamed that one day I would own a small restaurant. As a family we had a meeting and decided to build a small restaurant in West Kelowna known as West Sakura. I was lucky enough to have a good friend named Jackie who taught us how to make Sushi. He worked with us over the years sharing his knowledge about Sushi and is now retired. With my experience from Koya Japan and the knowledge about Sushi that Jackie gave us we now have a one of a kind Japanese Restaurant.
I was born in Vietnam on November 8th, 1983. On September 16th, 1993 I came to Canada with my Mother and Sister. Today I have a beautiful wife named Anne, and two beautiful daughters Alexis and Skylar.
When I was 15 years old I started working along side my Dad at Koya Japan. I used to dream about owning my own Sushi Restaurant when I was younger. For many years I worked hard and saved my money so my Father and I could be partners on a Japanese Restaurant. I love making Sushi it is my passion. It is healthy to eat and a beautiful work of art. On October 25th, 2012 my Father and I opened West Sakura.
